How to Use | Steamed Dishes

Best For for steamed pork, ribs, chicken, or fish (classic Chinese-style steamed dishes).

 

Ingredients (Guide)

  • Pork belly / ribs / chicken / fish    About 400–600 g

  • JHJ Spice Coating for Steam Meat  × 1 sachet

  • Water or rice wine – 1–2 tablespoons

  • Cooking oil (optional) – 1 tablespoon (for a smoother texture)

  • Vegetables (optional) – potato, pumpkin, kumara, etc.

Method

1. Coat & marinate
    Mix the meat with the coating mix and water or rice wine until evenly coated.
    Rest for 15–20 minutes to let the flavours absorb.

2. Arrange
    Place the coated meat onto a plate. Add vegetables if using.

3. Steam
    Steam over boiling water for 25–40 minutes, until the meat is tender and cooked through.

 

Handy Tips

  • Add a little garlic or chilli if you like extra flavour.

  • The mix is already seasoned — no extra salt needed.

  • Seal well after opening and keep dry.
