Simple Tangy Kelp Knots Salad (Refreshing, crunchy, plant-based appetizer)
Ingredients
• 1 pack Dried Seaweed (Knox Tie)
• 1 small clove garlic, minced
• 1 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
• 1 tsp sugar or honey
• 1 tsp sesame oil
• Pinch of salt & pepper
• Optional: sesame seeds, spring onion, chilli
Soak kelp knots until soft — they will expand in water.
Instructions
1. Soak kelp knots in warm water for 30–40 minutes until soft.
2. Rinse well, blanch in boiling water for 1–2 minutes, then drain.
3. Mix soy sauce, vinegar/lemon, garlic, sugar, sesame oil.
4. Toss kelp knots with dressing and sprinkle sesame seeds.
5. Chill 10–15 mins before serving for best flavour.
Tips
• Add cucumber strips for a salad twist
• Swap garlic for ginger if you prefer mild flavour
• Works great as a healthy snack or side dish
